What quick recipes do you offer?
We also offer the following meal categories within our menus that are designed to involve minimal effort in the kitchen, including prep and cook times:
Ready to Cook
- Found within our Signature and Signature for 4 menus, Ready to Cook recipes are meals that require little to no prep and clean up, and include a recyclable aluminum tray. Simply follow the instructions to assemble the meal and oven-bake.
Heat & Eat
- Available on our Add-Ons menu, Heat & Eat recipes are microwavable meals that come together in 5 minutes or less with absolutely zero prep involved! Available to order in 1, 2, and 4 increments, these recipes are perfect to bring on the go when you’re short on time but still want to enjoy classic Blue Apron quality and flavors.
Prepared & Ready
- Prepared & Ready makes mealtime the easiest part of your day, letting you enjoy the quality ingredients and flavors of Blue Apron—without the prep. These pre-made, non-frozen meals arrive chilled to ensure freshness, ready to reheat in minutes or store in the refrigerator. Savor signature sauces, seasonally inspired produce, and tender meats prepared sous vide, a French technique that locks in flavor and freshness. Choose from 16+ meals and a variety of cuisines each week, with more to come! Options include dietitian-approved meals such as Carb Conscious, 30g of Protein, Keto-Friendly, or 600 Calories or Less. For lunch or dinner any day of the week, these single-serving meals give you the quality you crave without sacrificing convenience. Feel free to choose these meals exclusively from the ‘Prepared & Ready’ menu, or mix them into your weekly order from our Add-Ons menu along with our Signature, Premium and Craft recipes.
What comes in each delivery?
Blue Apron meals deliveries contain all the seasonal produce and specialty ingredients you need to create unique, flavorful meals for the week. In each box, we’ll send detailed recipe cards with step-by-step instructions to make meals easy and delicious. Just bring salt, pepper, olive oil and an appetite!
Each ingredient in your delivery is carefully packaged, ensuring that your delivery arrives ready to enjoy.
Can Blue Apron accommodate food allergies?
All of our ingredients are packaged in a facility that also processes milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame, wheat, and soy. Because of this, we don’t recommend ordering Blue Apron if you have a severe food allergy.
We also provide allergen information on our nutrition labels for each recipe, which are available online up to 1.5 weeks in advance. We also recommend checking the ingredient labels in your box for the most up-to-date allergen information, as ingredients may occasionally need to be replaced with an alternative to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
Do you provide nutrition and caloric information?
We always want to help our chefs make informed decisions when cooking with us, so we provide nutrition information for each recipe up to 1.5 weeks in advance. The labels include the recipe’s ingredient list, nutrient breakdown, daily values, and allergen information.
Because every chef’s style of cooking differs, the caloric values of prepared meals may vary slightly depending on any added ingredients (such as olive oil) used in the process.
Do you offer vegetarian recipes?
We’re happy to offer at least 3 vegetarian recipes every week on our Signature for 2 meal plan, and 2 vegetarian recipes on our Signature for 4 meal plan.
If you currently have a Blue Apron account, you can head over to the ‘Dietary Selections’ section of your Account Settings and check the ‘We’re Vegetarian’ box. We’ll automatically default you to a selection of vegetarian recipes each week, but you’ll still be able to customize your menu. Please note, we’re unable to accommodate individual food allergies.
How does Blue Apron define a vegetarian recipe?
We always want our customers to have a variety of choices each week, regardless of dietary preferences. We provide at least three vegetarian recipe options on our menus, including Meal Kits for 2, Meal Kits for 4 and Prepared & Ready meals.
Blue Apron vegetarian recipes are made with fruits and vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds and are created with or without dairy products,* honey, and/or eggs for you to enjoy as part of your vegetarian preference.
If you'd like to take a look at our menus before signing up, you can always do so from our On the Menu page.
*Select artisanal cheeses may contain animal-derived rennet.
What are Premium Recipes?
Blue Apron Premium Recipes are recipes that introduce home cooks to specialty protein combinations, advanced culinary techniques, and unique flavor twists. These recipes deliver the experience customers know and love from Blue Apron, with an added emphasis on teaching home cooks how to create more elaborate meals.
Each week, one Premium recipe will be featured on both our Signature for 2 and Signature for 4 menus. Pricing for Blue Apron Premium meals will vary between an additional cost of $11.99 and $19.99 per serving on our Two-Serving and Four-Serving menus, depending on the recipe.
Look for the ‘Premium’ badge on your Upcoming page to see our scheduled Premium recipes for the coming weeks!
How often do you create and repeat recipes?
Our Culinary team uses seasonal ingredients to create meals that encourage our chefs at home to try new recipes and cooking techniques every week. We take care to ensure our recipes are suitable for beginners and experts alike.
Additionally, we carefully review customer feedback on each recipe to occasionally bring back the highest-rated, most-loved recipes.

Wellness at Blue Apron
Why we believe in a 360 approach to wellness
We’ve long believed in the power of home cooking to transform people’s lives—so when we set out to create our first-ever wellness menu, we knew it wasn’t just about the food on your plate. Home cooking has the ability to unlock a whole host of benefits for your holistic health--physical, brain, relationship, emotional, and financial.
Blue Apron Wellness recipes are designed with the diverse dietary needs of our customers in mind. These recipes include options with specific nutrient criteria, such as Carb Conscious, or 600 Calories or Less, or they may feature ingredients like Wellness Grains, and/or styles like Vegetarian, or Pescatarian.
To view a recipe's full nutrition information, head to your Upcoming page at blueapron.com, click on a specific recipe, then head to the Nutrition tab, and select 'View Full Nutrition.' Nutrition Facts Panels are available up to 1.5 weeks in advance.
The signature recipes under Wellness 360 showcase a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and grains, as well as lean proteins from poultry, pork, fish, seafood, and tofu, including moderate portions of dairy. These meals are well-balanced and consider the contribution of calories, fat, saturated fat, and sodium to the daily diet.
Our Carb Conscious recipes provide a balanced approach to carbohydrate consumption by replacing refined carbohydrates from sources like white flour, rice, and cane sugar with high-fiber foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Our Carb Conscious recipes have 48g or less of net carbohydrates (total carbohydrates minus dietary fiber) per serving, which is at least a 25% reduction in net carbs compared to the average Blue Apron recipe served in 2022.
600 CALORIES OR LESS
All of these delicious recipes come in at 600 calories or less per serving, ideal for those who choose to monitor their caloric intake, without sacrificing flavor. The US Food & Drug Administration uses 2000 calorie daily intake for general advice. The 600-calorie cap equates to 30% of a total 2000 calories per day based on 3 meals per day with 200 calories remaining for snacks or beverages.
As always, we offer dietary preferences when you order with Blue Apron. Blue Apron vegetarian recipes do not contain meat, poultry, fish, or seafood.* They are made with fruits and vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds and are created with or without dairy products, honey, and/or eggs for you to enjoy as part of your vegetarian preference.
*Select artisanal cheeses may contain animal-derived rennet.
Our Wellness recipes feature grains such as barley, quinoa, farro, orzo, couscous, and more. These grains are handpicked by our Culinary team in collaboration with our Registered Dietitian to provide nutritious grains to round out your dish.
Wellness recipes with the Pescatarian badge feature a wide array of nutritious seafood options like salmon, cod, tilapia, crab, and shrimp. While these dishes will never contain meat, pork, or poultry options, they may contain animal-derived ingredients such as milk, butter, cheese, and/or honey. As always, check your recipe's nutrition publication for the full list of the recipe's ingredients.
