At Blue Apron, we work closely with suppliers and farmers who set the highest-quality standards for every ingredient, as reflected below:
- In addition to sourcing sustainable seafood, we’ve partnered closely with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch to develop standards to ensure all of our fish and shellfish is rated ‘Best Choice’ or ‘Good Alternative.’
- Many of our ingredients are USDA certified organic.
- We work with farmers and ranchers who raise animals without any added hormones or sub-therapeutic antibiotics (which are often given to animals that aren’t sick. Our animals only receive antibiotics in the rare event that their welfare requires it).
- We support farmers who use regenerative farming practices that help build healthy soil for future generations. By protecting natural resources, encouraging biodiversity and using integrated pest management, our farmers grow their crops with minimal fertilizers and pesticides and help to reduce carbon emissions.
